Smelt is a popular winter fish. It is known to be rich in vitamin B12, selenium, phosphorus and proteins along with other vitamins and minerals. When vitamin B12 is combined with folic acid, it can help prevent the development of serious spinal cord related defects like spina bifida in your unborn baby.
