What are the benefits of having trout during pregnancy

Freshwater trout fish consists relatively low levels of mercury. It is therefore safe to eat during pregnancy. It is a rich source of niacin, proteins and vitamin B12 along with a whole lot of other nutrients. Niacin or vitamin B3 is essential for pregnant women. It can improve digestion, reduce nausea and take the edge off excruciating migraines. Hence, pregnant women should aim for an intake of 18 mg of niacin everyday during pregnancy.
Proteins, present abundantly in trout, are considered to be the building blocks of cellular growth of the body. This is why, expecting mothers should have trout during their pregnancy.
