There are many types of sturgeaon fish and all of them have varying levels of mercury. The Atlantic Sturgeon is considered to be safe for consumption during pregnancy as it has relatively low levels of mercury. As per the website of Environmental Defense Fund, lake sturgeoan, beluga sturgeon, Russian sturgeon, and stellate sturgeon have elevated levels of mercury in them. Hence, it is best to consult a doctor before having a variant of sturgeon fish during pregnancy.
