Carp fish is so rich in nutrients. Why should I have it with caution during pregnancy

The FDA categorizes carp as a ‘good choice’ for pregnant women on its list of seafoods okay to eat during pregnancy. The list comprises of three categories – best choices, good choices and choices to avoid. This classification is done based on the level of mercury found in the fishes. Carp fish is known to have medium levels of mercury. Hence, pregnant women should not have too much of it. The FDA prescribes 1 serving a week, where 1 serving equals 4 ounces.
