Why should you avoid eating Liverwurst spread during pregnancy

Liverwurst spread is essentially made up of pig and calf liver, and contains an excess of Vitamin A or retinol. Too much Vitamin A may cause birth defects during the first trimester. Liverwurst spread also contains large amounts of sodium and saturated fat that lower its nutrional value during pregnancy. The high amounts of liver in this food item contains sodium that increases blood pressure, and saturated fat that causes cardiac arrest. However, in case you are unable to keep your taste buds from devouring this succulent food, we recommend that you limit your intake to an occassional 2 ½ ounces per week.
