Should I give up on butter during pregnancy

No, occasionally having butter on toast or a caramel cookie that contains butter is not harmful for pregnant women. Butter, salted or unsalted, is rich in nutrients. It is a good source of Vitamins A, E, D, and K. Saturated fat in butter helps in muscle building and development of the soft cushioning muscle around the heart of your little one. But it is not recommended to have it regularly, as it can lead to unhealthy weight gain. This, in turn, can cause gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, and other health risks, which may reduce the chances of a normal delivery. To add to that, butter is a full-form dairy fat. Some studies have shown that women who eat a lot of dairy products tend to have large babies, which creates complications during childbirth.
