Not really. It is best to avoid having a semi-soft cheese like Limburger at a buffet counter as you don’t know if it is made from pasteurized milk. Most studies recommend not to eat soft and semi-soft cheeses unless they are thoroughly cooked to atleast 167 degrees Fahrenheit (or 75 degrees Celsius) and eaten immediately.

Soft cheeses made with unpasteurized milk tend to contain listeria bacteria. Listeria causes an infection known as listeriosis that can lead to serious complications like miscarriage, premature birth and even stillbirth during pregnancy.
