Approved emergency use
India has approved emergency use of locally developed Covaxin and Covishield (Oxford-AstraZeneca) vaccines. The country launched its vaccine drive in early January. According to Indian Health Ministry, pregnant and lactating women should not be administered Covid-19 vaccine shots as they have not been part of any anti-coronavirus vaccine clinical trial so far.
